Average Speed

Average speed is a simple concept. All it is is the average of your starting and ending speeds. Very simple. For homework, I wanted you to figure out what my real average speed is when play Run, Zombies! I start from rest (0 mph) and speed up to 10 mph! I expect this handed in tomorrow.

Speed Story

As you've probably figured out by now, I wasn't in today. Here is the video that was played in class today. Remember to bring in your homework tomorrow. We will go over it and I will also want some feedback on how it went. Should we do more videos in the future? Have a great evening and I will see you bright and early tomorrow!!!

Monday and Tuesday

On Monday and Tuesday, I will not be in. There will be work left with a substitute. I expect you all to do the work. If you need to contact me during this time, I will not be checking texts or emails until after sundown on Tuesday. The work I left you is challenging, but if you finish early be forewarned, there will be two quizzes over the course of next week. One will be on speed and the other will be on average speed. I will post your average quiz grades for your homeroom on the data walls that are now in the room and on the outside bulletin board. I will also leave the quizzes for you to review.

Solving Equations

For the next couple of days, we will be working on solving equations. This will help us in solving the more complicated equations in physics. Don't worry, we'll start the real physics stuff on Wednesday. This is all to prepare you. Physics is really math applied to reality.

The homework for Monday that's due Tuesday is located here.
The homework for Tuesday that's due Wednesday will be posted shortly.

If you need a formal text to read, here's a link to it.

Here is an interesting story from Richard Feynman about motion. We'll be using this later in the week.
